SHIPPING POLICY
At L-SPEC DATSUN, all cylinder heads, short blocks, long blocks,
and engine components are shipped after the completion of
machining, assembly, and final inspection. Due to the age of Datsun Z
engines and the specialized nature of our process, production timelines
can vary.
1. SHIPPING AFTER COMPLETION ONLY We do not ship any components until
the build is fully completed, which includes:
- All outsourced machine work (cleaning, prepping, decking, boring,
honing, pressure testing, etc.)
- In-house assembly
- Final inspection and verification
- Packaging and preparation for transport
No partial shipments of components used for a build will be provided
unless agreed upon in writing prior to the start of the project.
2. NO GUARANTEED COMPLETION TIMEFRAME Because many services are
performed by trusted third-party machine shops, and because parts
for Datsun Z engines can be limited or require specific sourcing:
- We cannot guarantee exact completion dates or turnaround times.
- Delays related to machine shop workload, part availability, or
required rework are possible and sometimes unavoidable.
Customers may request an estimated timeframe, but this estimate is not a
guaranteed delivery date.
3. REQUESTING AN ESTIMATED TIMELINE A customer may request a projected
timeline at any point during the build. When requested:
- We will provide our best estimate based on current machine shop
scheduling, parts status, and internal workload.
- Estimates are subject to change at any time, and customers will be
notified of significant updates as they occur. - Shipping process does not include weekends, business days only
4. SHIPPING METHODS & COSTS
- All completed builds are shipped using reputable freight carriers or
parcel services depending on package size.
- Shipping costs—including freight, insurance, crating, and
handling—are the customer’s responsibility unless otherwise
specified in writing.
- Engines and cylinder heads are shipped fully packaged and protected to
prevent damage.
Local pickup is available by appointment only.
5. SHIPPING DAMAGE Once a completed engine or head leaves our facility:
- Shipping damage is not covered by our warranty unless insurance is requested at time of purchase.
- We strongly recommend using insured freight services.
- Customers must inspect shipments immediately upon delivery and file
a claim with the carrier if damage is discovered.
We will assist in documentation for the claim but cannot replace or
repair items damaged during transit unless insurance was purchased.
6. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITY FOR SHIPPING INFORMATION Customers must
ensure:
- Correct shipping address
- Proper contact information
- Accessibility for freight delivery when applicable
Any reshipment fees, storage fees, redelivery costs, or return-to-sender
charges are the responsibility of the customer.
7. ACCEPTANCE OF SHIPPING POLICY By placing a deposit, commissioning an
engine build, or ordering any component, the customer acknowledges
and agrees to this Shipping Policy.
